Fanshaw
the Fly
Fanshaw
the fly kept a very keen eye on the overall world situation
And travelled by train in the hope that he'd gain from the papers
he read information
He found that the Times was read on most lines that led in and
out of the city
And he'd stand and peruse the crosswords and clues saying "No,
nearly right, what a pity"
Flies that he met were amazed he could get all the things that
he knew in his head
But it seemed that his brain was under no strain. "Pity more
flies aren't like me" he said
Then a friend said "Some are! Look, I travel by car to a
library not far away
There are dozens of flies and here's the surprise: they stand
and read papers all day!"
Said Fanshaw "Take me, for this I must see, a meeting of
mind's what I seek"
So
he joined the throng, but not for too long, for the flypaper's
changed twice a week.
